IMPRESSIONS is a set of four zine booklets which unfold to reveal unique compositions on the opposite side. This collection was inspired by signatures as a form of asemic writing; a way of writing that offers meaning by way of aesthetic intuition, and not by verbal expression. Signatures leave behind abstract traces of self-expression or individuality despite their inability to be read clearly. The text featured in each of the booklets is a poem written in response to the ethereal, raw and intuitive nature of asemic writing which was then printed onto vellum sheets. The transparency effect is a reflection of the gentle yet impressionable aesthetic of signatures and guide the eye through the compositions from both sides of the print.
